Job Description:

The Transfer Trailer Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of transfer trailers to haul materials such as waste, recyclables, or construction debris between transfer stations, landfills, and other designated locations. This position requires adherence to all DOT, company safety policies, and environmental regulations.

  • Operate transfer trailers in a safe, courteous, and responsible manner.

  • Transport waste, recyclables, or other materials between facilities (e.g., transfer stations, landfills, processing centers).

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any mechanical issues.

  • Ensure that loads are properly secured and meet weight requirements.

  • Maintain daily driver logs, time sheets, and mileage reports in accordance with DOT regulations.

  • Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of the assigned vehicle.

  • Assist with loading or unloading materials as needed (depending on operation requirements).

  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members.

You will be required to attend work 5 days a week with some Saturdays required.


Experience and Skills:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any mechanical issues.

  • Ensure that loads are properly secured and meet weight requirements.

  • Maintain daily driver logs, time sheets, and mileage reports in accordance with DOT regulations.

  • Comply with all local, state, and federal traffic laws and company safety policies.

  • Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of the assigned vehicle.

  • Assist with loading or unloading materials as needed (depending on operation requirements).

  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.

  • Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience

  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.

  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.

  • Capable of climbing in and out of a truck multiple times a day.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

  • Work in various weather conditions and environments (e.g., landfills, transfer stations).

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor work environment with potential exposure to dust, noise, waste, and other environmental elements.

  • Interaction with heavy equipment and machinery in transfer station/landfill settings.
